Team of the tournament - Three Quarters

So, before a quick summary tomorrow, who would we have as our back line?

Left Wing
Options: David Strettle, Alexis Palisson, Julien Malzieu, Andrew Trimble, Mirco Bergamasco, Max Evans, George North

About as open and shut a case as you can get - George North, George North or ermmm George North?

Right Wing
Options: Chris Ashton, Vincent Clerc, Tommy Bowe, Giovanbattista Venditti, Lee Jones, Alex Cuthbert

A case could certainly be made for Cuthbert with his power and possibly Clerc or Jones, but this is also an obvious choice for me in Tommy Bowe who might have equalled or bettered the try scoring record held by Ashton & (I believe - correct me if I'm wrong) Shane Williams

Fullback
Options: Ben Foden, Clement Poitrenaud, Maxime Medard, Rob Kearney, Andrea Masi, Stuart Hogg, Rory Lamont, Leigh Halfpenny

After two open and shut cases, this is much much harder. Although a case could be made for Poitrenaud and possibly Medard I'd put this down to a choice between Foden, Kearney & Halfpenny and a very difficult one at that.

For me Foden is the classic fullback, good under the high ball and running it back. Kearney has more experience and a great long kicking range for drop goals, whilst Halfpenny adds the penalty kicking ability more usually associated with a fly half. The latter three all suit their own sides needs, so its very difficult to step back and consider them in isolation, and the view of French or Italian fans especially would be appreciated - which we regrettably don't seem to have.

I am something of a traditionalist and so prefer Foden for the reasons mentioned above, as well as his cool head and growing influence on the rest of the squad, though I could see the reaosns for Kearney & Halfpenny and think whoever is Lions coach will have a tough time if things stay as they are right now. If its of any help, I decided by considering who I would least like to play against

North and Bowe, sure.
As I may have mentioned on other threads I consider Rob Kearney to be the best full back currently plying his trade and I saw nothing during this 6Nations to disabuse me of that view.
