Well what a very interesting test match, I called into my local for a quick ale and found myself glued to the idiot box watching the pummies drop like flies.....which in turn made the ales taste all that much sweeter.......Pieterson on his pathetic display of that sweep shot should be sent on the first plane back to Sth.Africa....

A Sri-Lanka lead of 250 would be enough, but 300-320 would be nice just to rub it in......

rabbit, I hate to contradict a wise old Aussie, but Pietersen was out to attempting to drive a wide delivery from Welegedara and played on.
Strauss was out from an awful attempted sweep of Herarh.
Maybe you had one too many beers and couldn't focus properly.

Told u guys and girls here that English will struggle a lot in the subcontinent .Its difficult to digest that no 1 team is no vulnerable against spin bowling.

hopey......I didn't say anything about getting out playing the sweep shot......I said the pathetic attempt of the sweep shot should be enough to send him home....it was a terrible attempt, shot's like that should be played (if at all) after a player has been in the middle for considerable length of time, Pieterson was on 1 if memory serves me correct.

After the end of show in subcontinent, Steyn,Philander and Morkel would be waiting for their turn.This and next series will be a real test of character.

What became clear today was that on this pitch everyone should have left the sweep shot alone as Herath and Randiv got little turn. As the pitch changes and the spin bowlers get more turn that shot may come into play.

I'd like a dollar (pound) for every top edge that the sweep shot delivered.....only the very best can play it with any authority.

the sweep used to be a staple shot to a spin bowler, especially on a wicket with consistent bounce. it is a perfectly legitimate shot. any player who can not use the sweep shot effectively can not consider himself to be a complete player against spin bowling.

the funny thing is the england team slaughtered sl a team in the warm up match, like they were playing against namibia, and all of a sudden their batting looks as bad as it always has been in subcontinent. just wondering how much dancing would have the english team done if murali was bowling, or maybe even warne.
english fans dont take any offence. just what every number 1 team deserves when they dont perform consistently. i guess sa will get that as well when they are no.1(which i hope is soon)
