Well I never!

You'd think winning the Carling/Coca Cola/Milk Cup wasn't enough for some people...

Don't normally comment on other Teams but I watched the game with my daughters fella (Liverpool Supporter) and neither of us could work out why Carol took a dive, the ball hadn't got away from him and in fact he could in all probability have scored, it was totally inexplicable. Some other decisions are easier to make but to allow the Newcastle lad a deliberate hand ball on the line is also unacceptable. What gets me is the the FA, League and referees association go out of their way to back these people to the hilt and this culture of can do no wrong is now becoming ridiculous.

The ref are assessed over the year and given point scores....some.moving up....some down.

Why can Rugby have the ref as an unquestionable figure....but football and fans.feel the need to question every single decision that goes against their team?

Im with cloughie on this one....more focus on the football and less on contentious decisions.

They have two assistants and a split second to make a decision. Players surrounding the ref is the problem, what happened to captains only directive from the FA?

Hold on, the difference being that our sport does not use video evidence. Plus the referees decisions in Rugby invariably have a correct percentage of a very high order. I can think of some in particular in Football such as Clattenburg whose decisions are down right mystifying.

You have to hand it to Man Utd, they just keep up the pressure from the first to last whistle. Man City with all the investment (interpreted as financial input) look to have blown it yet again. It does seem an awful lot of money just for Champions League qualification. It also highlights the fact that the UEFA financial cap will not work (capitalisation via sponsership by owners) unless a far more rigid set of fiscal rules are put in place

Video evidence in rugby union is only used for trys.

The rest of the game is left to the ref.

Its the players attitude to the ref that is a problem.....sort that first then look into the feasibility of technology to improve decision making.

Shall we have it for every decision......I may get home for Monday after a Saturday kick off!
