I believe this weekend is make or break for any realistic title challenge to Vettel. As a Hamilton fan, I hope he can form a good basis for challenge by a complete replication of Silverstone 2008. It would be phenominal for the sport to see somebody dominantly beat Vettel at the British Grand Prix (a track that recent tradition has been shown to suit the Red Bull). This is the one time I will ever say this, but as boring as the sport is becoming, I wouldn't even mind Alonso winning at the moment.
In my mind this is very realistic, with the weekend set to be hit by rain/storms, and Red Bull qualifying dominance that seems to slope off to McLaren/Ferrari race pace, we are in for a race that could see the McLaren's/Ferrari's starting on the 2nd or 3rd row of the grid behind which I firmly believe is going to be another Red Bull pole. Provided the others can stay within a second of Vettel for 3 laps, DRS and KERS (as false overtaking it may be perceived to be) will kick in and the race can finally be injected back into Formula One!
On a slight downer, as much as I want a realistic title challenge this year, I doubt it is going to happen unless Vettel starts making mistakes and cracking - which I'm sure he will have sorted out after 2 years of making championship challenges harder for himself. As far as I can see, Vettel may keep powering from victory to victory for as long as that Red Bull can hold onto its notorious qualifying pace.
One thing is for sure, under such conditions, this weekend is going to be well worthy of sticking around through all three practice sessions, qualifying and the race! See you all there!

Great article!! agree with it completely!! will be an amazing race and i think Hamilton will be on the podium i just dont know who with or what position..
Aslong as there are no safety cars it should be an exciting race because you can guarantee mclaren/ferrari will be hitting fastest laps when the safety car comes out and it will ruin the race!

It seems early predictions for weather were off, the weekend looks to be a DRY weekend. I'm not sure what may happen but I keep my hopes alive of a dominant victory for anyone but Vettel at the moment, I still hope for a Hamilton victory, which could be a very reasonable ask due to the McLaren's race pace that has in recent races shown up the Red Bull on occasions.
At least there's one absolute positive for everyone, YOU WONT GET WET THIS WEEKEND!

Would be a great weekend if Lewis or Jenson were to take a win here this weekend Greg, plausible, with a little wishful thinking
Not sure about that forecast of yours on the weather mate.
Good point on Alonso in your article, couple of times so far I've hoped for an Alonso win myself in the face of Vettel running away with things.
Main thing is, I hope we have an exciting race and maybe a few surprises over the course of the weekend.
Enjoy mate

Cheers bud and you.
Regarding weather, slightly a bit silly on my part I cant remember where I read the Wet Weekend forecast, however the Dry prediction comes from F1.com .
Have a good weekend, I doubt I'll be on here again until Sunday afternoon, busy times

Red Bull will have to doctor their engines again like last season to keep the interest up from Bernie's millions around the world.

Greg
You got the numbers for the Wednesday lotto
Alonso won
Tbh I was praying Lewis would get on the podium, unlucky, but Alonso winning still put a smile on my face rather than the same old same old from Red Bull over the weekend mate, so that point from you on an Alonso win was mentioned by me on your behalf after listening to Eddies prediction before the race.
Oh and a Ferrari supporters skip hat was offered to me if he did win.
Nice cap
Off now to have a dig a little Christ Horner.
Have a good one mate
