1. Europa is a devalued competition and distraction, with no significant financial incentives. Only midtable clubs like Liverpool celebrate a Europa campaign.
2. It makes a serious point to UEFA what we think about Motherwell going into the CL, whilst the 4th team in England is denied a spot. **** them.
3. It creates a significant embarrassment for the FA, who did more than any other institution, or even football club, to ruin our season. **** them.
There would be an international outcry and media campaign if a rich club was denied CL football in such circumstances, we should just say **** it and refuse to play in their B competition along clubs like Liverpool. It is more a liability than an opportunity away. Seriously, we have nothing to lose and only a great point to make.
We should withdraw from the Europa League

"The future?? I am talking about now."
Apologies for not you on your PL/CL triumphs with the team made of "kids" .

You are being extremely thick right about now.
The statement I made was that the benefits of investing in youth development was already evident. Which is clear to any intelligent football observer.
Until the increased revenue and thus spending power part of the long term strategy also becomes effective PL trophies will be hard to come by.
Your grasp of long term is very poor, turning this into a rather difficult conversation.
£147m net spend more than Arsenal = complete lack of PL success.

Then QUANTITATIVELY define "long term" .
How long. When the time period starts etc.

Arsenal will win The Emirates Cup without conceeding a goa in 2020.
