Well, yesterday produced the earth shattering news that signalled the death of Scottish Football as we know it! The liquidation of Rangers F.C.
The SPL within a few years of playing without the Old Firm derbies will cease to have any outside interest, as there will be no Sky Sports deal, no ESPN deal, no major sponsorship and a diminished fan-base at SPL clubs.
Should (The Newco) Rangers be accepted in the SPL, should they be accepted in the 3rd Division of the SFL or should they be made play in the minor leagues?
Discuss!!!

Dos....the 11-1 relates to more than the split of Sky dosh. Watch the 11 going for a split of home gates, for example !

Even if we play in the third division then the other clubs can vote through the same changes.

Why don't Rangers apply to play in the Northern Counties East league or something of that ilk in England?
Seven or eight promotions and you'll be in the EPL. I'd go and watch you at Mickleover Sports or Worksop Town. It's about the same standard as Scottish Division 3 (probably better).

Dos...currently the home club keeps 100% of the SPL gate. The smaller clubs want to split the gate , therefore Rangers and Celtic would give them , say, 50% of 50,000 and they would give the Old Firm 50% of , say, 8,000. Both the Of vote against this and as it requires 11-1 it stays as it is. BUT, if Rangers move to the 3rd the 11 could bulldoze it through and Celtic would be financially worse off. You may say....good but the truth is that if and when Rangers get bak to the SPl the deed will be done and they will have to comply. I give this as an example of what Celtic supporters should wish for....

It is encouraging to see that NO team is exempt from the rules, even Celtic or Rangers.
Rangers fans, quit with the moaning and the "death of Scottish football" stuff! This situation has damaged the image of Scottish football around the world and many Rangers fans don't seem to get it! Accept your punishment and move on!

From the outside looking in, one has to ask "Without Rangers, who will challenge Celtic?" and the answer from that perspective is "No one. Celtic to dominate Scottish football forever!"
