Interesting article which suggests that this year's tyres do not suit Jenson's way of entering and exiting corners :

Interesting article on the Button problem

How are they on the straight?

Yeah I read that too. It does make quite a bit of sense cos I remember in his championship year, he had a very similar problem. He was easy on his tyres which meant that he couldn't get them up to temperature as easily as his rivals.
It's certainly not an unsolvable problem as Button has had some great moments this season. He dominated in Australia and could've easily won in China if it wasn't for that botched pit stop.
Hopefully he'll sort it sooner rather than later as his season is rapidly falling apart.

He will have to change his driving style. That may make him harder on the tyres and be counterproductive.
Last year the tyres suited his style, since the mclaren upgrade, they haven't.
Poor jenson

Australia's a fast circuit, but there have been other quick circuits like Canada where he has done badly. I wouldnt have thought it would have been such a problem on those quicker tracks ?

I do not buy into this tyre problem excuse.
The last race event showed that 15 cars were separated by less than one second.
Gary Anderson, as usual, is simply regurgitating some nonsense comment that someone else made.
The BBC showed both Lewis and Jenson driving in split screen mode and their driving styles were identical.
Can I suggest that we create twitter accounts along the lines of usernameJA606 and ask Anderson to show footage of Button driving ever so well to support his theory.

This is what irks me about people. Button is doing a poor job. Say it. Why are people making excuses for him?
Anderson is even suggesting Mclaren change the car to suit Button's style because Hamilton can still drive it. Poppycock.
Adapt to survive. If he can't then he doesn't deserve the seat.
If it was Hamilton struggling with the car, Anderson, Coulthard, Brundle and co would be sticking the knife in saying Hamilton is not managing the tyres properly. I'm pretty sure there would be no suggestions to change the car to suit his style.
I like JB but I'm sick to death of people making excuses for him

Button is doing a poor job. At what point is anyone suggesting otherwise?
By the way, people on this board really can't talk when it comes to making excuses. All last year, when Hamilton was doing badly, all I ever heard was "Whitmarsh is doing it".
This is what winds me up about some F1 fans. When Hamilton was doing badly, 100% of the blame was being put on Whitmarsh's shoulders. Now it's Button whose having the bad run and all I hear from these people is he's "being found out as an average driver".

Now you are being dishonest. When Hamilton was crashing, everyone blamed him, even when he didn't do something wrong (kobayashi, spa). Whitmarsh and Mclaren were blamed for poor strategic choices and a failure to bring through upgrades quickly enough.
tshe was the only imbecile who consistently argued Whitmarsh was doing all sorts to hamper Hamilton.
In the midst of his troubles, when he finished races, he was ahead of JB for the most part.
JB is a decent driver and should demonstrate this on the track and people need to stop falling over themselves making excuses for him.
His performances this season since the upgrade to the car have been shockingly bad and he needs to do something about it.
Adapt to the situation, everyone else is doing it. Why can't he?
It really winds me up the way people defend his poor performances. He is costing his team constructors points
No one

Difference is when hamilton was supposedly doing bad he was still only 10 or so points of button who everyone said was at his best. Now the tables have turned and button is having a bad year and hamilton is having a decent/good year yet hamilton is 40 odd points clear of button which should be more if maldonado knew how to drive.
Button dosn't even look like threatening the points right now yet last year give or take a few stupid moves then hamilton would of been picking up top 5 places.
I'm a hamilton fan but if dosn't win then I like to see button win but the same people who were calling anyone who stuck up for hamilton last year "fan boys" are now coming up with every excuse under the sun for button. Just face facts that he hasn't been anywhere near quick enough and that is not just down to the car.
