In 20 years time....

...there will be no live horse racing in this country. The way the race courses are closing (Hereford and other one) and some already closed (Great Leighs), it gives a picture.

If you want to see a horse race, just pop into a bookie, where you will see some Virtual Horse Racing with high resolution graphics(almost real) then lose your money.

Anyway, all hail great horse, Frankel..

Yes because there are so many group and listed races run at Hereford and Folkestone.

HI Scars..

How you doing matey? Even though there won't be any listed races but closure of 3 racecourses in 3 years is not a good sign.

For British racing aslong as Ascot,Epsom,Cheltenham,Haydock and Kempton stay open I don't care because that's the tracks were interested in winning all the English group 1s.
Im fine by the way how are you me old flower.

Yeah, what about the local people who are affiliated to this race course? And also it's easy for local trainers to bring their animals.

I am good thanks..

It's actually a better thing for horses less mediocre trainers training bad horses the less that are sent to slaughterhouses once there mediocre careers are over,so then less bad mares are kept for breeding and less horses sent to the sales and less are then sent to slaughter.

I don't understand the fuss in horses getting slaughtered. Oxen, cows and sheep are all bred to get slaughtered..in a humane way.

True but I think it's a betrayal doing that to an animal that's more like a pet it gives everything on the gallops and on the track and when it's done just disposed off.

I do agree the way they bred like pets.

But, the world has changed and everything surrounds money and these people can't afford to keep these injured horses for ever.

It's not even injuries if they break bones it's far kinder to put them down to keep a horse alive after a leg break is horrific what they go through. It's better now because of the recession your getting less of these half ased owners in syndicates so there's less being bred and slaughter houses aren't as busy as before.
