What a cracking opening day at the British Open.
Much of the talk has been about Rory, but surely he can not go on and win this one, right after winning the US Open? How good is he? One thing I am sure of though, he is a breath of fresh air and a joy to watch.
What about the English amateur Tom Lewis, anybody see that coming? and how about the old War Horses Thomas Bjørn and the loveable Jiminez, can they go on and win this? They are top players and look to be in great form.
Many Europeans and Brits are placed nicely and I wonder who you think is going to win this competition?
Personally, I have a feeling that Sergio Garcia is finally going to place himself on that list of Major Winners. Surely he is too good not to win one? and he looks to be in fine form. What do you reckon?

Fair play to Ruperb Bell. The young lad had a tough day today, as did many, and he has still put himself in a reasonable position to win the entire tournament, sitting there in the company of the likes of Phil Mickelson amongst others.
Now day 2 is over and despite the conditions and the course looking like everything was set up for some low scoring, nobody managed it and I can't wait for the next 2 days.

Day 3 is over and Darren Clarke is leading the Open on five under par, and if his putter had been a little warmer then he could have been almost home and dry by now after playing beautiful golf all day. Dustin Johnson is one shot him and I am hoping one of these 2 sneaks off with the claret jug. 2 great human beings. That said there are several others in contention and it's still very difficult to call. Roll on tomorrow.
