Andy Flower has said that its a long back for KP. If that's the case it will be a very profitable long road back as the options for KP the freelance are as follows:
Big Bash League - $250,000
BPL - $750,000 (Afridi is the highest earner at $700,000 but KP will fetch more)
IPL - $2,000,000
SLPL - $100,000
FLT20 - £20,000
He will probably lose his 300k a year ECB contract but with the T20 leagues as well as the above salaries there is also plenty of commercial opportunities. It's good plan B work if you can get it.

as I guess Kp opened his options when at one end retired temporarily to show he loves playing for the franchises, and at the other coming out of retirement to show he is dedicated to play for England.
Now he can buy a couple of apartments in SA and Australia and maybe India as well. well played boy

Pride and reputation of playing for your country has a lot of value.too. After 20 odd yrs, he is not going to tell his grandchildren that he was a prolific 20-20 scorer or created recorded in BPL.

yeah but knowing the ECB they'll contact him part way through the EPL and tell him if he wants to play for england again he has to go to new zealand in 2 days time.

Naah KP will buy his grand children very expensive gifts from the money he will earn from 20-20 and then tell stories about how he has F$%^&% ECB who had become number one with the help of imported players (modern days Gurkhas).
