Brian Mc Demot next Ireland manager?

I think its safe to say that regardless of how we get on in the current World Cup Qualifying campaign that Trapatonni will finally retire. Age is not on the mans side i think he will be 75 years of age by the time Qualifying starts for the Euro 2016 Finals!! Maybe he can go off and become the Pope then!!!

Current Reading manager Brian Mc Dermott has already stated in interviews that managing Ireland at some time in the future is an ambition of his.

Mc Dermott was born in England but comes from an Irish family.

He is the man who as scout at Reading bought Shane Long and Kevin Doyle over to Reading from Cork City so he has already worked with a lot of ROI players (Noel and Stephen Hunt as well).

He is still only 51 which is a young enough age for a manager and he also led Reading back to the Premiership.

All Irish fans will agree that we are crying out for a modern thinking manager who likes his teams to play good Football and is willing to give young players a chance and not just select the old reliables regardless of what their form is and what level they are playing at!!!!

I cant think of any other manager in International Football who selects players who are struggling at Championship clubs over Premiership players. Maybe Levin at Scotland but we have one such manager in Trapatonni.

If not Mc Dermott , then maybe Brendan Rodgers, Martin O'Neill or even Pat Fenlon who has turned things around at Hibernian.

Peoples thoughts!!

The latest odds have Tardelli as favourite.

I hope the FAI don't do anything stupid, but they're just so good at it, I suppose.

Agree about McDermott though.

Or Owen Coyle, he's very enthusiastic and I know things haven't been great for him at Bolton I think he could do well with the young players we have.

What about Chris Hughton?

I'd take Hughton, but he worked so desperately to become a manager instead of an assistant manager and maybe he feels that he needs the day-to-day side of management that only club football can bring.

No Premiership manager in a job will take it now maybe the likes of Harry would take it he cant find a job soon.

Harry would be great if we could get him. We need lunatic trap out ASAP

Anyone who read Trap's comments in the Sunday papers will see how he's basically stating that Andy Keogh, a championship striker, is better placed to play on the wing against Germany than James McClean, an actual Premiership winger just reinforces the urgency to get this mad clown out ASAP!! He's went as far to say he doesnt care who plays in the championship or premiership or which position people play for their clubs as its all about Trap's perception of how quick they take his instruction??? As he indicated by clicking his fingers coz he couldnt command the english to state what he was saying. So in mad Trap world he rewards those who dont question him, which mean those that benefit from his daft selections and tactics whilst those who are baffled and question his warped logic and those who are written about in the media will be banished to the sidelines. Totally warped and almost insane logic, I actually think the guy should be in a nursing home some place as he's clearly not fit to be managing an international football team and his part time efforts and complete lack of respect for the job prove he's not fit to manage our international team!

<LAUGH> thats all i can do now when i hear Trapatonnis latest eccentric opinions!!!

If we play 442 against a clearly superior Germany side and take yet another pounding then Trap will surely have to go this time....

But anyone here who seriously thinks the likes of McDermott or even Owen Coyle will simply put their domestic careers on hold to come and take the Ireland job is deluded...

Time for a reality check lads!

No up and coming manager, Irish or not ,with a good clean record is going to take the Ireland job, only managers who are really old, who are on the edge of a sacking, or who simply can't find work anywhere else will take this job!

The only reason a guy like Harry Redknapp would take this job is if we paid him double what Trap is on!...

What interest do you honestly think a grumpy old bstard like Harry would have in our national team?
