Andy Let Me Down

Ok, bad as it was, he and Frank not taking/closing in on the yellow jersey after Voit's EPIC ride, was merely disappointing. Though I thought it was a massive error in judgement, I was still proud to say I rate Andy Schleck and want him to win the tour.

Yesterday has me wondering now though. Not because he lost time to Contador, not because he generally rode a poor stage. But because in the post-race interview, he acted like a toddler and spat the dummy blaming first another rider and then the descent. "We shouldn't have finishes like this!"

My Message to Andy.

Listen here ya snot nosed lil winer. You had a bad day and stuffed up, get over it. Contador knows you can't descend to save your life and he took the opportunity to give you a sound time spanking. Don't you dare moan at the organisers or whinge about the others in the race. Now dry the tears, pick up ya dummy, get back on ya bike and handle ya business! And don't you EVER embarass your fans by crying like a baby again!

What an incredible couple of days' racing. Down to the TT. Evans got the mental edge after all his clawing back gaps, but apparently Andy spent long spells in the winter improving his TTing position.

Impossible to tell who'll bag it imo - riders have got to be wrecked after these past few stages, pure time-trialling skills are just a part of the equation now.

If that is a dig at Contador then it seems you are forgetting that he won the Giro and one of the hardest in recent years. Least he hasn't moaned about it like Schleck. Credit to Evans though, deserves this

He fully deserved it - the way he single-handedly clawed himself back into contention in the Galibier and Alpe d'Huez stages was absolutely fantastic. I'd never really taken to the guy that much, but this year he's really earned my respect.

The Pyrenees were a bit of a letdown, but hats off to all the contenders and to how they battled it out in the Alps.

Only real negative of the race imo was the massive autobuses of riders coming in after the cut-off times. They need to review cut-off times so that they're actually meaningful imo - getting to Paris in itself is no longer the superhuman feat it used to be.
