Dear All,
Still gutted as Ind didn't make it into Semis y'day. Good luck for rest 4.
I personally feel ICC should review their knock out stage match planning. If any team is depend on performance or outcome of other match then those matches should be played at the same time.
This will make sure that no team is getting undue advantage and no team can manipulate their performances.
Please note I am not giving excuse as India crashed out but does make lot of sense.
Your thoughts please?
Cheers.
ICC - knock out stage formatting.

Agree they should play at the same time. But it's all about TV revenue...
You can press and use the red button on Sky TV. But in Pakistan, India, SL etc... there is no red button. They just about manage to get electricity. Never mind the red button.

Agree with you. The initial group stages were also a shambles with too many meaningless games.
But you guys haven’t come up with a better format? What format did you want it to take – if all top 8 teams play each other once, although that’s fairer, people will then complain that its too long.
Agree its harsh going out after winning 4/5 games.. I also feel sorry for the kiwis having to go to two super over eliminators, if the points were shared 1 each – they would have been through. The super over is just a longer version of tossing a coin. No way to eliminate a team from a major tournament, especially in group stages.
Ps – who had an advantage by not playing games at same time? Surely it was india, because they knew exactly what was needed?

Afridi even with 2 super overs they would not have got more points than the West Indies Super overs are fun to watch
A group of all 8 times is the best way. It's not that long as 3 games can be played on one day easily.

The super over is Great. The NZ Coach is moaning about it for no reason.
And, as for numeracy skills, Afridi weren't you the one who said points from the Group Stages would carry through to the Super 8's?! I mean how did you work that one out?

I am pretty sure Red button technology will be coming to those countries soon...
To be honest I am not fan of superover. If both team have put efforts in then that 1 over shouldn't decide outcome of the game.

I think Indians benefitted more than Pakistan did due to current scheduling of ICC because India new exactly what they need to do to qualify for semis where as Pakistan did not.Very few would have predicted that Pakistan would win so comprehensively against the only unbeaten team in the tournament prior to that game.
