On one article we have good old don telling us that AVB needs time and cant be judged until the end of the season. How he is a new manager and needs time to settle. In the past everybody has pointed out his experience in Portugal and how well he did.
Then don writes an article telling us about WBA and what a great start they have made etc. even tho he thinks they will fade away.
The current WBA manager has NEVER managed before but does not appear to need time to settle at all.
Why is it that an experienced manager, who has won european trophies and league titles, needs time to settle but a complete novice does not ?
We then have the list of posters that blame everything on Levy for not signing Willian and Moutinho or some other top class players.
WBA highest ever transfer fee was £4.7 mill for Valero back in 2008 and their next highest was £4.5 mill for Shane Long a player we would not even consider signing.
Why have WBA made such a good start they never signed Willian or Moutinho either ?
With all the excuses thrown around this board will somebody please explain to me how a novice manager without any big signings or top players can have a great start to the season but Spurs with their "highly rated" young coach and absolutely millions of pounds worth of players are playing so badly ?
Has anybody noticed we are the only team in the top 12 to have a negative goal difference ? Minus 1 to be exact.
Lets assume (using WBA as an example) that managers do not need time to settle. Lets also assume (again using WBA as an example) that big money signings are not 100% necessary to get a reasonable start to the season.
Taking that all into account just what excuses can be paraded around for us playing so poorly so far this season ?
No this is not an anti AVB thread, its an anti EXCUSES thread because I am simply sick of reading excuses for people not doing their jobs properly and that includes managers, coaches and players.

Here's a suggestion... what about a 65 year old English manager with decades of experience who recently took a London club into the Champions league for the first time in it's history. Having won the FA Cup at his previous club. No wait... that would be far too sensible!

fair enough... but the relationship had broken down between him and levy to the extent that his position was no longer tennable.

AVB is messing up the first part of the season .. harry messed up the last part of two seasons so lets see if he does the opposite to harry and improves in the new yr

the start has not been great but my personal opinion is that we should at least wait to see what happens when we have a full team available, and also when avb has had a chance to bring in at least one or two of his own players.
levy hasnt backed him well in this regard.
we would have appraoching a full team now if stupidbayor hadnt got his stupid self sent off

Nah its not having a pop at you I am just pointing out that WBA and Clarke dont need time why do THFC and AVB ?
I am also pointing out that half this board is screaming their heads off cos we never bought certain players but WBA did not either and are doing ok

no point judging how any team is doing after 13 games, i remember blackpool being 2nd after 12 games and got relegated
