What they've said: Arsene Wenger
"Our results are quite consistent and good away from home," Wenger said. "We had a good game against West Brom and it's important to confirm that in our next away game at Reading. If you look at our season at the moment, we have not produced our performances at home. We've had more draws, especially at home and that is where we have lost the points.

The way to combat that is when you know it going to happen to go 4-4-2 with Giroud/Theo partnership. At that point a long ball from a center back aimed at Giroud, a knock down to Theo and we have a Smith/Wrighty partnership or a Adebayor/Edurdo one. Our famous plan B.
We could actually have a Plan A and a Plan B.

Oh god I did say that on this board so many times. At least we can agree on something Jenius.

What do you mean you can't train for it?
Wenger must have seen (somehow) that the brainless clown Yao Koassi was not working up front so decided to try Walcott there.
Honestly after all the top players we have lost, how can you say that Wenger only tried Walcott there because of his contract situation?

I agree with you on Gerv, Batmanu. No doubt you are right with your comment.
What I meant is that suddenly Wenger gave Theo a chance upfront because he saw in training he can do it there? Do you think that is the truth? He must have seen it long before and try it.
Wenger saw it last week in training then???? I dont he is for real here.

Wenger recognise that he cant make a mistake in January and sell him. Wenger is under immense pressure. He cant afford to lose Theo Walcott and he knows it.

I think that our results and performances were so poor that Wenger felt he needed to try something different.

...and Reading was the right opponent to do so.
Maybe I am wrong. I have that feeling about it after all.

Walcott isn't the answer but it's good to try something different!

Again pp12, I have no problem with Theo upfront. I want him to stay at all cost. We need him and cant afford to lose him. Would be a bad sign and Wenger will be under pressure till the end of this season to do well.
