Chequebook Kenny

Kenny has spent an awful lot of money since taking over and has overspent on a lot of players. Realistic values for players signed would be Carroll 6-8 million, Henderson 10 million, downing 8-12 million. With king Kenny spending way over this amount one would expect that Liverpool will need to make the top 4 this season to balance the books or they could be once again drifting towards financial freefall. However this time a buyer would not want to invest in a team not regularly qualifying for europes elite competition.

Liverpool fans will rightly feel encouraged by their performances since the takeover by chequebook Kenny, however since his takeover there has been nothing to play for, therefore no pressure. Pressure is where the problem comes in, with a shaky defence and young ungelled players, can Liverpool really expect to be challenging for the top 4, where there are more established teams in the pecking order. Without bias, some would say that Evertons first XI would eclipse that of Liverpool due to their experience of playing together and holistic experience throughout the squad.

My honest prediction is that Liverpool will struggle again in the early part of the season and this will lead to another finish of between 6th-10th. Inexperience and key players losing their ability (Carragher and Gerrard) being the reason. Subsequently the owners growing disillusioned with where the club is going and King Kenny proved to be an old has been.

Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
