Reading v Swansea City Post-Match Thoughts

Well, another game gone by, halfway through the season, and another point on the board taking us onto double figures for the season and moving up a place in the League Table. Not the most entertaining game at home to Swansea but, a team that likes to pass, creates a lot of openings and can score goals (Michu 14 goals) is not a bad result by any means. Every point is valuable to us at this stage.

Not the most entertaining game I've ever seen but it did have it's fair share of chances and oppotunities for either team to collect the 3 points and some were saying 'how the game finished 0-0 is beyond me'. Again, there are positives to take out of this game, a clean sheet now and we only conceded 1 at the feet of the champions last weekend and it looks like with our Set Pieces Attacking we are very solid and we are going to add goals from that department.

What got me was the disallowed goal. I'm clearly not going to complain that it was the wrong decision from the referee it was the corredt decision but I saw replay's over and over again and from the back of the net camera angle, it seemed that it was going to land right on his head and go in anyway so why was his hand there anyway? Maybe to protect himself as he could have been clattered by anyone in that area, understandable but it cost us a goal which would have got us 3 points.

Chico Flores with an excellent piece of defending clearing Le Fondre's shot which needed to be in the corners for me and then there would have been no doubt of a goal then. Swansea also had good chances, Michu missing from 6 yards which he should have finished, Nathan Dyer's header wide, Gunter's poor chest (why didn't he head it?) back to keeper was a huhge let off for us, he needs to go back to the training ground.

So it is progress this game for us and hopefully we can pick up 3 points on Saturday with a winable game at home to West Ham.
