Well done to Heather and Laura for making it through first round in differeing fashions.
Heather Watson is carrying some sort of elbow injury and was below par before clicking into gear, Robson progressed much easier to earn really tough draw v Kvitova.
With both girls now in the 40s in world rankings and egging each other on, its a great time for british women's tennis, could we maybe see one of them reach week 2?
Johanna Konta is also one to watch I think, I like her hard hitting style and fighting attitude, she unfortunately lost in second qualifying match.
With Koethavong's career on the wane and Bally having been out due to surgery it's up to Watson and Robson to fly the flag!
Top 20 ranking by end of year I hope!

My major worry is how much these performances have exhausted Robson and Watson - the latter's performance during the doubles said as much.
Kvitova's coach needs to send her to a shrink! Gutsy by Robson.

Well done Laura, another fantastic performance
Not bad for an Aussie

No, she is English, just as Murray is.

Hopefully mean spirited folk will stop labelling Robson a choker.
She's a threat to any woman on the tour right now, long may it continue.

Great wins by Watson & Robson. Now look forward to round three.
Watson v Radwanska (4th seed), 1st on court tomorrow.
Stephens (29th seed) v Robson.
Whilst they can draw confidence with getting through to round three that must be forgotten and look forward to their next match.

Watson now ranked 39, Robson ranked 42, they'll soon be seeded nicely for tournaments

Radwanska will beat Watson in the next round - always support a fellow Pole
Who does Robson have next?
Oh, also, Sharapova

Sloane Stephens, very evenly balanced that one.

I dont think that Heather has in it her to tame the big girls . Laura seems to be better equipped to bring glory to Britain.

Heather played a much better match v Radwanska than in the summer, looks like she'd learnt a lot. She is heading in the right direction, especially after winning first tour title by a British girl in over 20 years.
Robson and Watson are great for each other right now.
