Ben Barba stood down

It is with great sadness I hear the news of Ben Barba struggling with demons like many, many do in every day life.
Todd Greenberg has just announced to a press conference (room full grub reporters) that Barba has been stood down for numerous breaches of the clubs rules of conduct and he is not answering any personal individual questions because it's the belief of the club after taking professional advice that by releasing these issues is not going to help Ben but further make his life more miserable, when it is important to gain the help required.
All Greenberg did say was, Ben has been through a relationship break down with the mother of his children whom has been a big part in his life for many years. As well as personel issues Ben has to deal with himself that has turned his life into turmoil.

I personally congratulate the manner in which Greenberg dealt with the grubby questions coming from the press, one could easily see that he and Canterbury do truly care for this troubled kid and not once mentioned or cared how long Barba will be out of the game, other then to say it's a long process and the club is behind him..

The press have already gone into over-drive on what these issues could be......from women bashing to gambling to drinking.
I honestly don't know how these grubs can sleep of a night in order simply to sell papers.....

Ben Barba won nearly every award last year and there has even been speculation that Slater might be forced to play on the wing or off the bench for Queensland against NSW......not in my view, but speculation just the same......all this means very little now.
I just hope this kid gets all the professional help required first and foremost and then perhaps get back on the paddock to show us his great ability to beat his man and run like the wind...

Well done to the Bulldogs for the handling of this case. Unlike a certain other football they didn't try to sweep the problem under the carpet.
