Phil Jones, who impressed in the first leg at the Bernabeu, has been ruled out for United with an ankle injury. Jonny Evans will compete with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic for a place in the starting XI, with right-back Rafael asked to perform a marking job on Cristiano Ronaldo. Manager Alex Ferguson has said he is undecided over whether to start Ryan Giggs or bring him off the bench for his 1,000th senior appearance, while fellow veteran Paul Scholes remains unavailable with a knee injury.

Alex Ferguson: "Real have just played two fantastic games against Barcelona and they're hitting form at just the right time, while we've been playing consistently well for quite a while now. It doesn't get any bigger than this game: two big clubs, two great histories, it's set up to be a marvellous game and I don't think it'll disappoint."

= Players to watch out for!

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who is recovering from a broken left thumb, will not play at Old Trafford, despite being named in Real Madrid's squad. But Xabi Alonso, who did not play at the weekend, may start despite his long-term groin problem.

Jose Mourinho: "I expect United to be very defensive when we have the ball, and to attack strongly when they have it. Even though we're behind in the tie and have to attack, we'll also have to defend stoutly. We come here after two important wins, but even coming here after two defeats would make no difference. It's good to have players happy, with morale high after beating their rivals (Barcelona) twice."

Was it really that dangerous? I might have to see it again but wasn't he only trying to control a ball coming down at height, so not quite in the same league as a 2 footed 'leg breaking' lunge.

If Nani's was dangerous, then the Keeper should've been off for punching Vidic in the head.

Rio applauded at full time. If it was in game time he would of been sent off.

He will get a five game ban
