That there will be no retrospective punishment fro "that tackle" in the Newcastle/Wigan game.
As an Arsenal supporter, I do hope that the Newcastle Management sue for assault on one of their players.
We've had the situation with Ramsey, Eduardo and Diaby. All with broken legs. All caused by bad tackles.
Ramsey has never been the same player. Diaby last 5 minutes on the pitch because of the long term after effects of a tackle made in the last minute of a game that was already won - and Eduardo, a natural goalscorer was never the same after his injury and left Arsenal.
This has got to stop. It's not helped by people like Lawrenson and Hansen who often make inane comments after a red card is justifiably given IMO.
These double footed dive tackles and high tackles - potential leg breakers both - are nothing short of assault. Players' careers are ruined and yet nothing is done. Except a red card and a 3 match ban if the referee sees it
Accidents can happen; but for me, this weekends tackle on your man was assault. Your Directors would do us all a favour if they bit the bullet and took legal action.
Good luck for the rest of the Season.
Just heard the news.....

You'll find there is a question mark, but I caught the j whilst typing, as for the your yeah I'll give you that, but I'm big enough to admit it!!!!!!
Like I said, all I was saying was the player wasn't commiting assault and that the OP was OTT with his comment and then you for some reason thought you were being clever with the are you his agent comment.
The thing I've noticed on JA606 is if someone is stuck for something to say, the old grammar police appear, this is a football forum not an English lesson, so Chief Constable if it's Queens English you want then you need to find a different site.

I withdraw my grammar comment, it was petty.
My point is that I made a light-hearted remark; I don't see why you took it as you did but you're entitled to do so.
What I object to is your remark which I find particularly offensive for reasons that I don't care to go into. Additionally your comment about who I support is cheap, possibly the same sort of reaction you're accusing me of with my grammar comment.
I'm proud to be a supporter of my home town team as I'm sure you're proud of yours. Can we just agree on that?

Yeah the retàrd comment was low, and if i caused offence I'm sorry as you can tell I can be a hot head I thought you were trying to be a clever so and so, it seemed you were trying to make out I saying the guy was totally innocent.
Yeah I'm proud of Utd but due to work reasons I now live in Hereford who I do go watch when I can as I did with the local teams when I was living in York and Aldershot.

It's decent of you offer the apology which is accepted.
I like the fact that you support lower league teams in your locality, that's the mark of a true football fan in my opinion. Good luck for the rest of the season.
So, all ok then.

We're sound fella
So do you think the departure of Di Canio will have a adverse affect on Swindon?

He was always going to go, the only unknown was when. His ambition is only outweighed by his arrogance.
It's true that we had success under him but he was very well resourced by League 2 standards. He wasted a huge amount of money bringing in totally useless foreign imports who we then had to pay off. Most of the players who brought us success last season pre-dated him at the club. Now apparently he's going to sue us, for what is unclear seeing as he walked away the day before a critical game at Tranmere. Partly because of this the Football League are keeping us in a transfer embargo. So even after he's gone he's still having a detrimental effect on things!
You can probably tell that I'm not his greatest fan!
On the positive side we now have a good manager in Kevin McDonald who is true football person and a total contrast in personality terms.
It could go either way now. If things go well we could make automatic but the play-off lottery is more likely. We play decent football on probably the best playing surface in the lower leagues and have a solid fan base by League 1 standards.
I bet you didn't expect this! Sorry if I've banged on!

Wooooow
That got you started
I thought he was sound!! but its always good to hear it from the people that know whats going on, it really does show how fans of other clubs are ignorant to whats going on elsewhere.
Good luck with promotion push

It was a very dangerous tackle. Look at the replay - at the point where McManaman makes contact, both his feet are off the ground. He is flying into a very reckless challenge.
And then, play having continued, McManaman then commits a deliberate handball on the touchline to prevent a pass going to another Newcastle player - red card.
The official who saw the tackle - I'd like to know what he thought happened and why he didn't raise his flag. Did he genuinely believe no foul had been committed, or did he just bottle it because the referee did nothing? (It subsequently turns out the referee may have been unsighted for the tackle.)
Because if the FA are saying the incident was seen by this official, and so they are unable to take retrospective action, they've totally bottled it.
If the FA come out and say they are unhappy with the linesman's decision not to flag for a foul, but still cannot take retrospective action because he saw it, the linesman ought to be shown the door as unfit to officiate.
And the referee and linesman ought to be punished for not doing anything about the deliberate handball.
How Roberto Martinez can defend that player is unbelievable.

I seem to remember Alan Shearers reckless kicking in the head of Neil Lennon and he got away with it. You don't like it up you do you?
