Sorry guys if this has been done. Obviously 1st and 2nd(???) places are sorted. However I was thinking of what would happen if Chelsea miss out of the top 4 but win the Europa cup. I believe that winners of Europa league from this season will have a place in the CL for next season. Can anyone verify if this is true?
If this does happen, that would be the second time in a row that Chelsea will come in through the back door. Admin please multi board.

Not true but would be a good idea to give EL winners a CL spot. Surely that would make teams take it more seriously?

Yes I also think that whoever wins the Europa League should gain automatic qualification to the following season's Champions League group stage or at least the 3rd qualifying or play-off round.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. Strange that a Chelsea mate was telling me this today. Anyway, good luck to u guys in the chase for the CL place (I am a United fan btw). That chase is looking more interesting between the 3 London clubs. Hopefully United can wrap up the title tonight and I can relax and watch the top 4 fight.

If anything.... I think that if Chelsea win the Europa league, they should be forced to defend it, regardless of where they end up.
After all, they only made it into this year's CL because they deserve the right to defend their trophy.
