What do we need

For next year?


The current squad (I'll include those whose contract is expiring):

GK

Alexander, Gallacher, Smith, Currie, Kelly

DEF

Argyriou, Perry, Cribari, Wallace, Faure, Hegarty, Cole, Gasparotto, Mitchell + youth

MID

Black, Hutton, MacLeod, Crawford, Shiels, Aird, Templeton, McKay
+ youth

STR

McCulloch, Little, Hemmings, Naismith
+ youth

Plus loans such as Goian and Bocanegra to return.

It's expected Alexander is away, so that's a good saving on wages. And hopefully the likes of Goian and Bocanegra can follow suit, saving even more. In addition to this, some dead wood should be stripped out. A clear out of Cribari, Perry, Cole, Hemmings and Naismith would be a start, and if not for the embargo, it should be even more severe (I'd have added Hutton to the list, but with the likelihood of MacLeod off on international duty, then he'll be needed incase of injury.)

So once September comes around we will have to look to bring in:

A GK

- A Bell, Randolph someone of that ilk. If loaning out a couple, then look to bring in a lower league keeper.

A RB, and at least one CB

- RB, Lee Hodson, Tom Hateley. Someone relatively young, and who shouldn't cost a fortune in wages.

-CB Gary McKenzie (MK Dons, previously at the club and knows the lower leagues), Craig Cathcart (linked with us), Steven Saunders, Spurr.

A Central Midfielder

- If another RB has signed, then sign Hateley for here, David Edwards, Nick Law, offer Stirling a deal, he looked tidy enough.

A Winger

- Pacy, right sided, direct. Humprey from Motherwell type.

Two strikers

- Clark, plus one, McAlister,(Scored a few this season, knows the lower leagues, plus is still relatively young), Higdon better than McCulloch, and has scored a few this season, or someone more pacy.

Some positions can't think of free agents for currently, and some players I've stated might have had moved on already, as I might be using out of date info.
