Swansea has cut ties with Laudrup's agent

This is a two-edged affair

They've done some good business exploiting Laudrup's connections

But it might have arrived at a point where the club feel it's too much (of Laudrup's and his agent's players)

And what does the phrase 'cut ties' even mean. It surely is the club's business which players they sign and the club is free to tell that to anyone.
