I've always banged the drum for Laura Robson and Heather Watson, 2 undoubted talents of the British ladies game.
Robson has now risen to what should be a ranking assuring place for the US Open and hope she is starting to build self belief and momentum in Grand Slam status events.
She showed today v Kanepi that she can live with top players and carve out chances, but she also showed that she still has to learn how to control the nerves, capitalise on breaks and sometimes just choose the right shots.
Robson is a great talent and the fact that she went and signed autographs before leaving the court despite being close to tears shows just how classy she is.
Well done Laura on a great Wimbledon adventure, fully expect you in the final next year
A star in the making

Garbage.
All the money the LTA have thrown at her, she fails and we (British) are happy.
She is not good enough; if she was she would have been closer by now (or won one). She is happy taking her sponsorship money.
A star? Maybe in the tabloids, but not on the court.

Laura is certainly a star in the making - a top 10 player in the near future for sure.
As for naysayers like strett, you are very uninformed.
Granted, i equally find her omnipresence and twatterings irritating but she is a kid ffs.
Robson has to improve her dire movement and mental side of the game to unlock her potential.

Top 10???
Well great. The LTA should be very pleased.
Sharapova, Williams, Hingis, Seles, Graff were all multiple slam winners younger than Robson is now.
We are all so desperate for success that we cheer on mediocrity believing it to be great; it's like the Life Of Brian but not as funny.

Also fellow professionals criticise how little training Robson does.
Are they Ill informed?

Top 10 are getting older since Sharapova's day.
Why shouldn't the LTA be pleased with a top 10 player?
No one is happy that she's lots, people are happy that she made it to fourth round.

Which shows the dearth of talent coming through; it should be easier now!

Plenty of talent coming through, Stephens, Keys, Garcia etc
