Wimbledon/USO double vs AO/USO double

The Wimbledon/USO double happens more often than the AO/USO double.

When I say double, I mean winning just Wimbledon/USO or AO/USO in the same calendar year. Just those 2 slams.

In the past 40 years, since 1973:

Wimbledon/USO double happened in

2005 Federer
1995 Sampras
1993 Sampras
1989 Becker
1984 McEnroe
1982 Connors
1981 McEnroe

AO/USO double happened in

1973 Newcombe(both on grass)

Statiscally the Wimbledon winner is more likely to win the USO than the AO winner in the same calendar year.

federer has also done it in 2004,2006 and 2007

How often has FO+Wimby happened? I am guessing not too often and I am guessing Borg had done it a few times (without googling).

I know Fed did it all those years but my thread is about winning Wimbledon and then the USO in the same calendar year or winning the AO and then the USO in the same calendar year without having won any other slam that year.

In other words, winning 2 slams in a year. Not 3 or 4 but 2 slams, Wimbledon/USO double vs AO/USO double.

I can remember Rafa doing it in '08 & '10 & Fed doing it in '09.

Regarding winners of RG+Wimby in the same calendar year, my search showed the following:

Fred Perry - '35
Lew Hoad - '56

Rod Laver - '62, '69

Borg - '78, '79, '80

Nadal - '08, '09

Federer - '09

Connors, MacEnroe, Sampras, Edberg, Becker, Newcombe, and Tilden had no French titles.

Lendl and Wilander had no Wimby titles.

So, the above list is most likely the full list.

AO + FO & FO + USO are the two hardest doubles to do. I'd say the channel double is 3rd followed by AO + USO double.

The real GOAT has done 2/4 and the Channel double twice
