The Last Of Us Thread (spoilers)

Borrowed it off my brother, had great reviews so I was expecting to be good although its not really the type of game I really play. I was not let down. Really really good story, like an adventure hybrid of the stealth of Batman, and the horror of RE. Just thought I'd talk about a few aspects of the game.

The characters themselves I find are great. Joel seems to try and hide away his past and clearly finds it difficult dealing with grief. He avoids questions about Sarah, Tess and Sam. It was great seeing him blossom a relationship with Ellie, and at times in the game (when she ran away) I actually got worried myself! He really cared about her, loved how he just blasted away anyone who got in his way like those 2 hunters, the firefly guard and Marlene. Ellie could've been potentially annoying but her sassy attitude really compliments Joel. She came up with one of the best moments of the game when she jokingly asked Joel why Bills magazines pages were stuck together

The Henry and Sam part - that was emotional. I was genuinely was a bit shaken up by it I think the death of Sam sent out a message that the game was ruthless, none would be spared, like Sarah. I think that Henry committed suicide because in the cutscene before Sam mentions that Henry said the bitten people went to heaven - He didn't want to leave his brother alone it all happened so quick.

David was a real motherfooker. At first I thought he was ok, but when he started asking to be moved and stuff I got really suspicious. That darstard! He was also the only thing any way near a boss fight, which was interesting. This was an intriguing part of the game, it was good how things quickly changed from chapter to chapter.

The ending - I thought was maybe a little bit disappointing. It didn't tell enough for me, what they did next, what of the infection and humanity, it was almost a disappointment that the game ended in a lie after all they'd been through. I guess Joel just couldn't stand to lose another. I did expect someone to die after what happened to Sam and Sarah.

My only other criticism is that the auto save system probably hindered the game. It was too regular.
