Bench warming............

Willian has gone from shaktar where he was part owned by kia joorabchian, the notorious agent of tevez etc to anzhi and in less than a year has now proved to be utterly motivated by money by first using liverpool as a message to english clubs then jumping in bed with tottenham before then bed hopping to chelsea.

And all for money?

You bet. I found ti personally hilarious that spurs got done over... sorry spurs fans, you'v neough to be happy with to let that slide.... but also think some releif from LFC fans must be felt.

This guy is tevez or suarez like in greed.. god knows what he's like on the pitch but I think given the 6 guys already playing in similar positions at Chelsea we may never know..... What would LFC have to do to satisfy this guy? win the league? pay him 200k per week. He would have been agitating for a move the day he arrived.

I think rodgers is right, move on to the next target.

Absolutely have to agree with this. I (like a lot of people IMO) are mercenaries when it comes to salary. If someone offered to up my salary by, lets say, 40%, would be off with no hesitation. So it would be hypocritical of me to criticise any player for doing the same.

===========

Not everyone is alike. For example, my brother was offered a couple of jobs recently, one in an established company for a very good wage and one in a new company for less money but rapid progression if the company progresses.

He took a gamble, played the long game and went for the smaller company with a lower wage.

We're talking about the difference between ludicrous wages and really ludicrous wages. As a model you could hardly say someone like Wright-Phillips made the most of his potential.

We, as fans cannot criticise players, especially those of South American origin, for trying to do the best for themselves financially. In many if not all similar circumstances, we would do the same. I've witnessed, time and again throughout the length and breadth of that continent the abject poverty that pervades. Good luck to Willian, whoever he signs for, I hope he doesn't sign for us, we can do without the inevitable demand for transfer to Real or Barca in 12-18 months time.

Jimmy, I won't ever deny a man his right to make some money but lets bare in mind here we're talking about roughly the difference between £5m a year and £6m. Plus most top players make as much out of endorsements. No player at this level is stuck for a quid or two.

Sterling, I don't challenge your view, but bear in mind the almost inevitable abject poverty these guys have been born into. Also, of greater significance, is tha fact that his agent is Rio K whatever. That means- screw every penny out of anyone stupid enough to agree. Money is first, last and only consideration here.
