Now hear me out, Over the last few weeks we have looked much better defensively compared to previous seasons, despite it only being the start to the season.
Obviously one main factor has been Jose Mourinho's new emphasis on balance rather than the all out attack we had last year( which caused us to bottle 8 trophies may i add).
Another factor may be the implementation of the hardworking and more tacticly astute Oscar as our AM instead of the more lazy yet more creative Spaniard. Mata rarely presses, lets players drift past him too easily which is also one of the reasons our midfield was always overwhelmed vs possesion teams last year e.g Swansea and Athletico.
Oscar although less creative is much more willing to do the dirty parts of the game, as we all saw yesterday with his excellent defending, this means Chelsea can now attack and defend as a team, not as a group of indiviuals like last year. The final result =Balance.

Fact is even after 4 games this season we look ten times a better team than last season. We appear to be able to control games for long periods of time (something we could not do at all last season).
this is down to one man............Jose and personally i could not be happier that we now look like a team again.
As for Mata, he is too good a player not to play for us and I am certain he will perform a role that makes Jose happy............If Jose can't get Mata into our team i would say it would be a black mark on his record.........give it time, I am certain we will see an improved Mata...
Look at Hazard, already his work rate is ten times improves, he was amazing on Friday with his defending..........it is all good news, we just want Mata as part of it and he will be when he is ready

My one question...is Mata in any way unfit..? (apart from match fit as he hasn't played in a month)
If he is fit - he should be starting, & if we suddenly up & sell him I will not be impressed...I can't see it but...

The only teams that can get Mata are Real, Bayern and Barcelona.
If he goes to any of them we can take players in return that we need. e.g. Martinez, Modric, Ronaldo, Fabregas.
