Kissing Cameras Stats

Manchester United have failed to score in two successive Barclays Premier League games for the first time since August 2007.

Crystal Palace have collected just 25 points from their last 24 league games away from home (excl. playoffs).

In picking up those 25 points away from home in the Championship, Palace had the 15th best away record in the second tier.

The Eagles won on their last competitive trip to Old Trafford to face the Red Devils; 2-1 in a League Cup tie in November 2011.

Marouane Fellaini (151) won more aerial challenges in the Premier League last season than the 11 midfielders that played for Manchester United combined (94).

David Moyes’ side are yet to score in the opening 30 minutes of their matches this season. In 2012/13, Man Utd scored a league-high 33 goals during the first half hour.

Ryan Giggs has never scored against Crystal Palace in the Premier League (seven appearances). Leicester City (12) are the only team he has appeared against more and not scored against.

When manager of Blackpool, Ian Holloway saw his side score twice in both Premier League matches against Manchester United yet still lose both games.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United last failed to score in consecutive home games back in August 2007.

Bolton Wanderers (2-1 in 2001/02) were the last newly-promoted side to win at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

David Moyes is unsure about when Wayne Rooney will be available for first team duty after the striker suffered a gash to the head whilst training with England. The United manager also has doubts over Rafael and Phil Jones, who have hamstring and ankle problems respectively ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace. However, he does have Marouane Fellaini available following his £27.5million arrival from Everton.

David Moyes on Wayne Rooney: "He is in great physical shape. Obviously he has a cut right in the middle of his forehead which could split because the skin is very thin. "But he has had his stitches out and it has knitted. We just have to see where the level of risk is with his injury."

Palace

Jonny Williams and Jack Hunt are out of Crystal Palace's side as they both face months on the sidelines. Academy graduate Williams suffered ankle ligament damage on international duty with Wales and new signing Hunt broke his ankle in training, while there are a couple other knocks manager Ian Holloway was not willing to divulge before the match. Late acquisitions Adrian Mariappa, Barry Bannan, Cameron Jerome, Jimmy Kebe and Adlene Guedioura will be hoping to make their first appearance for Palace at Old Trafford.

Ian Holloway on Owen Garvan: "He hasn't said anything to me. If it has been on Twitter, who knows what you can trust on that sort of site. All I can say is there is no player in the world who doesn't want to be selected. The rules of the competition are that if you have more than 25 players you have to de-select some. That is just it. What I hope is that they will all get to clubs where they can play and their players will kick on. It might yet be here, particularly with Owen. He was really close to being selected. In fact if it wasn't for a conversation we had the week before, because he wasn't going to be in the starting XI, he would have been in my 25."

Jesus Arsene, what have you done?

------------------

He's abandoned his project of trying to copy Fergie and win it with kids. Instead he's trying to win it with players that will score highly at scrabble.
