Strikers

Why don't we have a decent goal scorer at the club? Why haven't we had one since Earnie (who wasn't that prolific anyway)? We've had David Johnson who scored 20 odd league goals and before that Collymore and Campbell. But why have we spent the last 10 or so years without a striker who can hit 20 goals in a season?

Other teams manage to do it and you only have to look at Burnley where they have had a string of clinical finishers like Rodriguez, Austin and now Ings. I don't want to hear the stat about not needing a 20 goal a season striker and that most of the promoted sides over the last few years haven't had a top scoring striker. That's boring. I want someone at Forest who is going to play every game and have a 1 in 2 ratio.

Look at our strikers - Henderson, Derbyshire, Cox, Mackie, Blackstock, Miller. There are some decent players there who bring a lot to the team but I don't have confidence that any of them could hit 20 league goals in a season.

Are we buying the wrong players or is it something about the way we play and rotate players?

I'm not having a moan by the way. If none of our strikers score again this season and we get promoted then I'm happy but I just feel like it's our turn to get another good one.

Miller and Derbyshire were brought in by one of the championships worst ever managers. I can't honestly see him getting another job .........

Hendo is ok if we supply him better.

Mackie is a work horse as is Cox. Cox should score more though.

Blackstock seems to be out of favour at the moment.

Tudgay is the forgotten man

Kindly post this on your own board.

Webbo that cross from Reidy for Hendo was a peach on Saturday. Hendo should have hit the target at least, his effort was poor.

Was thinking this the other morning though. After watching the FLS highlights and seeing the likes of mcgoldrick almost bag a hatrick, you've got to wonder what it is. Under davies, mcclaren, mcleish, cotteral, and SoD he was never favoured and each manager would have different tactics and set ups in which he would of fit into atleast one style. Similar boat to mccleary until his departing spur.

Rotation is obviously a factor but strikers rarely rise up to the challenge when given the chance. Hendo and derbyshire are the only exceptions of late. They have seemed to step up when called on and their goal record so far reflects it. Both should start tonight and see how many they can bag between em.

Maybe the ancient mayan curse is wearing off?

I agree. We do need a goal scorer. We seem to have been linked with Wilfried Zaha.
We also have a history of sellings players that can't score for us but seem to have no problems sticking em in for their new club.

everybody knows we need a striker i don't agree with rotation anyway so pick 2 strikers stick with them and see how we get on you don't see Burnley rotating their strikers and they're banging them in
question is are their any decent strikers out there that clubs won't demand a huge transfer fee
so billy if you're reading please even one on loan NOW
