Triple H promo.....

Good Morning..

I see Triple H has came in for some stick for 'burying' Daniel Bryan during his Raw promo the past monday. If anyone hasnt seen it yet he said Bryan isnt a top level performer and compared him to people like Jericho, Edge and RVD who also weren't quite top level.

To say Edge wasnt a main eventer is a a downright lie. He was in some suberb angles with Cena, Undertaker, Batista and had a classic match with Foley at Mania.

Jericho holds the most belts in WWE history I gather? Hes a huge fan favourite, has had some classic bouts and is widely appreciated for his understanding of the business and putting over younger talent.

RVD is an ECW legend and huge fan favourite as well as multiple title winner.

Bryan is hot right now and would do well to be mentioned with the above and is well on course to be. A title win Sunday and consequently holding it until Mania would be a big step forward and cement him as a main eventer.

Any thoughts on this? They seem strange examples for Trips to use to me and is his blatant dismissing of Bryan personal or just an angle? It feels quite personal but he is a good promo guy

Heyman would have only one place to go...turn face. The guy has always existed as an anti establishment thorn in the side.

The "Paul Heyman guy" mantra sits amongst the most powerful anti establishment ideologies. If Brock goes to HHH, then it would be ideologically catstrophic for us if Heyman went.

IMO a suitable angle would see Punk and Heyman unite and thus create a face entity that hold genuine credence both creatively and subjectively.

How they would bring together Heyman and Punk remains to be seen, I may have to suggest a Punk heel turn to pull it off convincingly, but that leaves us little time to establish his turn if we are aiming for Mania 2014. (yes IMO a Punk heel turn is ripe for the picking when u think about it)

People have been crying out for a new era and maybe we have it the to a threshold throwback. No doubt with this marquee plot we see attitude overtones where the establishment get their hands dirty. With the inclusion of Heyman and Punk as anti heroes...u got one heck of a precipice.

The real question is...CENA.

No doubt, my question wasn't so much would Heyman become a converter (his anti-establishment attitude is the ONLY constant thing about his character). It was exactly where would his undoubted duality take him? Back to Punk? Across to Bryan? Reluctantly to Lesnar? (so we get a great slow burning face turn). Dare I say it, to Vince? So many intriguing possibilities...... but this angle has the advantage of that, I've yet to think of a nonsensical storyline tangent involving all the companies big names heading into Mania. Polar contrast to what I've grown used to from WWE where it feels like an uphill battle to suspend your disbelief (the power of not trying to second guess your own characters).

The only two nailed down ideologies in the company at present are Triple H and Stephanie, they have to remain heel within the context of this angle for it to flourish - everyone else has the freedom to turn depending on circumstance (including guys not introduced yet such as Punk, Lesnar, Rock, etc...)

Punk turning heel would have to be Heyman centric (as well as killing their feud asap). Either it comes across as a re-marriage of convenience or an act of rebellion which saw his hatred for Heyman overshadow his allegiance to the fans/doing the right thing, etc... personally I'd keep him face, but that's just me.

The Cena conundrum is simpler than it appears. It depends on how big a creative risk WWE want to take, how innovate they want to be. If true to form they wish to play it plain jane, then Cena enters the dynamic post-SS to challenge reigning champion Orton at Royal Rumble. Bryan wins the RR, goes over them both at WM...... if they are a little more ambitious this time around, Cena's path is even more simple, he has NO business involved in it. This angle is catering to a demographic that historically hates his guts, unless he turns heel (which isn't going to happen and would be stupid anyway) he doesn't belong here. Rock III or Taker is his WM destiny.

Re Cena...spot on. But are the gonna innovate or play it safe?

It's called 'creating heat'

Metro

Just to play devil's advocate (you know, for a change ), there's creating heat and creating heat...... insulting the local sporting establishments technically creates heat, but the heat's cheap as chips.

HHH could be slightly more persuasive in his condemning of Bryan at the moment. I'm surprised he hasn't playing the internet darling card yet, would've been my first draw out the stack.

Didn't he already play the Internet darling card on Punk in '11?

I actually think the WWE deserve some credit at the moment. They dont seem as opposed to pushing smaller guys as they used to, they are trying to rebuild the tag division with actual teams and they have injected the roster with younger talent.

They still however have issues with the womens division and when it comes to Mania they are still using old part timers as opposed to building new stars.

Aside from that though it has certainly improved recently

Nope, if I recall it was Punk who put those words in his mouth. Don't think he denied it either though

Btw, I love how Bryan's face is on the inside cover of WWE2k14. Face of the company who must remain hidden
