Szczesny signs new long-term contract

The polish goalkeeper has signed a new contract with the club. I don't know the length just yet.
Now we need to give Sagna a new one as well.

He had experience at Brentford and was our no.1 since he was 20. The best goalkeepers don't usually change clubs that much though.

You don't consider Casillas as successful?
---------------------------------

He was and then when he was approaching his best years and should be the best in the world, complete collapse in confidence. You could argue that was partly due to Mourinho. But the fact that a change in manager has not changed his fortune shows that there is something gone wrong psychologically.

lol the opposition fans dont rate szczesny still.

the ones who dont either lack football knowledge or dont watch arsenal or just get their knowledge through the media.

i appreciate it more when fans start to rate a player before the media start giving them recognition. its when the media start giving the player recognition and then suddenly everyone rates him thats gets me. its like they have to wait to see if the media thinks they're good before they do

szczesny is a top quality young keeper and will be one of the best in england in years to come. he probably is already

They don't and don't rate any arsenal players for that matter.
We are probably still top of the league because of alphabetic order I guess

Fair enough!
But dare to explain as to why you don't rate him? Is it because of the mistakes he made in the past? And if so, do you rate Hart (who has probably made more mistake in this calendar year alone that Szec in his entire career)?
Two things people should keep in mind, first is that he is very young for a keeper. Secondly is that a keeper is as good as his defence. So if the players in front of him are all over the place (which used to be the case for us), don't matter how good the keeper is, he will get exposed.
I'm not gonna go over the top like some of our fans and say that he is the best in the league, we could have done with much worse if you ask me.

Chesney is a future legend! Hopefully Sagna signs but have a feeling he will be tempted to go back to France.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the situation with Sagna will depend on where we stand toward the end of the season. If we are still real title challenger, then he might be tempted to get an extension. Worth also to point out that he is a starter at Arsenal. If he move, it might not be the case anymore.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the opposite. If he wins something with us I think he will go out on a high, if we don't then he will probably give it another year and try to win something with us.

Anyway, I am delighted to see he has put all the fickle mugs calling for his head in their places (you know who you are). Would love if we won something and he stayed

And to think there was a risk his career could be over when he broke both of his arms.
