Bad news indeed. I only hope the guy isn't going to disappear like a certain Marcus Trescothick did.
I also hope that the England team can now respond to the likes of that arrogant and disrespectful g*t Warner (how HE can come out and dis Trott when HE is NEVER going to have the career Trott has had so far!) and go on and beat this nasty lot in the next test.
I'd take a punt on maybe Ballance coming in, I like this lads attitude and think he would respond well to adversity. What do you think?
Mr Trott...

Neon,
The OP has made mention warners arrogant and disrespectful behaviour. The points regards ponting, harby and symmonds link in with respect to distasteful on the pitch behaviour.
Apologies if you were offended by harbys name being mentioned.

I think Trott either shouldn't have gone at all or should have sucked it up and stayed for the series, this kind of behaviour is just disruptive to the team.
Presumably he either knew he was stressed before going (so don't go), or only got stressed when he arrived (so stay, it can't be that serious after a couple of weeks).

Arsene, with respect, depression is a difficult thing to judge - its not related to a tragedy or due to any drug or anything like that.
Stress or anxiety can hit us at any time, and thats what YOU are talking about, not clinical depression, its far more complex than that

England players need to start growing someballs instead of complaining about sledging.
Obviously what happened with Jonathan Iniesta us bad but the rest if them should face whats given to them instead of crying to the authorities.
I aint a fan of either England or Australia but after what England did at home they shouldnt expect anything different down under.
sledging is a part and parcel of the game. Accept it. Instead of crying about it England batsmen should take note from players like Dravid, Tendulkar on how to counter sledging.
Mitchell Johnson is right when he said Australia wont give up sledging. These are the things that add spice to the game and have been a part of ashes culture.
England players should man up.

Could it be that English players are more likely to acknowledge their mental health problems than others because there is less stigma?

I think a lot of the England players are using the trott situation as a shield to cover themselves against any future sledging, that's how it looks to me anyway, like people have said this has gone on for donkey's years and at the end of the day it's about results, if eng had won that 1st test I'm 99% trott would still be there and England would be bashing Australia for being cry babies
