Strange feeling

...for United to have qualified already from the group stage instead of making us sweat on the results of the final group games like they usually do.

Apart from the year we missed out 2 seasons ago, when have we sweated?

Why are people so quick to make us sound like some washed up team?

Surely the irony of this comment is not lost on you?

And it's nice to forget the Cardiff result now. As stated on a lower thread the next 3 games are massive. Win them and Moyes could put an end to the MOYES OUT! crowd, at least for Xmas

Is the Champion's League the only group format in the world that goes straight to head to heads & ignores goal difference?

I think La Liga do it (unless they changed it again), but as far as group games go I think it's the only one yes.

It's fúcking stupid.

Aye, we need a result, at home, in a competition where we are unbeaten, and have won both of our previous home games. To be honest, I'm more confident playing against a CL team at home, than a PL team.

I will be honest and thought we'd not get out of the group stages due to Moyes' inexperience in Europe, but to be top and remain unbeaten is pretty fantastic. Happy for the man.

Didn't division 3 (or league 2 as it is now) used to do it on just goals scored.

Not sure if that is still the case but I remember 2 teams had a game against each other to decide which of them would drop into the conference...

One side had to win even though they had a better goal difference as the other side had scored more goals...

Didn't the Euro qualifiers used to go on H2H as well?

Agree on the head to head rule, it's not based on your peformances through out the group but potentially just one game, daft rule which Chelsea fell foul of last season.

I think we played some good stuff in the CL (home and away against Bayer and home to Real Soc.).
