I finally crumbled and bought Ghosts this week, mainly because I've become utterly bored of every other game I have so decided to sell my soul and buy it.
I should also point out now that I haven't touched the campaign, just the online multiplayer.
Is anyone else playing it? I appreciate CoD is a bit of a marmite game, but I was just looking for a few opinions. I'm particularly interested in anyone playing it on a Next Gen console. I'm still on the 360 and it strikes me that the game would be much better on the next gen, primarily because on old gen you can only get a maximum of 12 players on a map, whereas on next gen you can get 18. It seems to me that many of the maps are too big and you can end up spending a lot of time just running around trying to find someone (and then get shot in the back).
I don't know if it's because of the maps size but there seems to be little close combat kills too. Ranged weapons seem to be all the rage this year.
So what are people's thoughts on it? Also what loadouts are people using? And favourite/least favourite maps?
CoD: Ghosts

Ghosts is awful, like mentioned before its not fun. It so one dimensional and 442 it scary.
The makers have utterly and totally Bari kiried the franchise. Its time is up and unless they go back to their roots.
Like Fifa, folk are not playing the game, but the exploit so its annoying to see campers and guilliemsuits everywhere.

hate this version of it, more than any other.
Goen back to Black ops 2 now.
Maps too big
Spawning is wrong (but this will probably be fixed as its an issue with alot of CoD titles on release)
Get killed way too easily
too many sniper points. Campers paradise.
I know maps liek Nuketown and Hijack (BO2) arent great for tactical gameplay, but sometimes I just want to go out all guns blazing. Its good to have a few of these maps in the mix.
I havent players Gjosts for a while, and cant see me doing so

I have actually gone back to it recently and 9 times out of 10 I can go all guns blazing but with the castle map and another one it is just pointless!
You need all the stealth perks and marathon to get a run going though

I've found that you definitely need the perk to make you invisible to thermal.

Gone back to MW3. Other than MW1, its probably the best Cod game out there.

Do you still get a lot of people playing online in the older games?

MW3 is finefor the core games such as TDM. it takes a while sometimes to get connected to the more objective based games such as S and D, simply because theres less people playing, but once you're in a lobby you get into games smoothly.

Serial
That's me played Ghosts for about a week or so now and what I've found is that the core games like TDM are rubbish due to the maps and the campers (which invariably destroy every game).
However, I've found some of the other games, particularly the new games modes that they've put in over the last day or so, to be really enjoyable.
I forget the names of them, but the game mode in particular I like is the one where you start with a pistol and have to get to a crate to upgrade to a better (random) weapon. Firstly it suits my playing style as I've always been a run-and-gun agressive player. Secondly it means camping is exceptionally difficult. It's really really enjoyable.
The other new game mode, where with every gun kill you upgrade a weapon (and every melee kill you downgrad), is pretty fun too, although as always I struggle when I end up with a sniper rifle. I'm awful with them.
I think getting away from the main game modes is essential to enjoy the game.

Ive tried to get into Ghosts, but I just cant do it, overall its just not a fun game to play on line (which lets be honest is the point of a COD game)
The maps suck and are just full of campers, of course you get campers on all FPS but on Ghosts its just silly.
Even the new alien mode i have fast grown bored of. Its supposed to be their version of zombies and its just not as fun. It takes the least fun game play tactic of Zombies (finding a spot to camp and camping there) and turns it into an entire game.
As Lefty said, maps like highjack and nuketown are small but they are fun, you know you are going to get hit a lot but at least you know that when they come up they are fun and that they at least offer you a chance at a different game type.
I blackops II it for online, there is more variety in the maps and its not just full of campers.
For the most part I play Black Ops I for zombies (unless I fancy a run out on origins or buried) as thats got the best selection of zombie maps on it.

Got rid after a week, such a piece of crap.
