Ireland dominating to be fair. But not making the most of the wind behind them. I expect England to play the percentage game in the 2nd half. But if they don't sort out their break down it's over. Right now Ireland are defending with ease and turning over ball when they please.

Freddie Burns. having a forgettable day for saxons. I recon SARS was correct in questioning why Cipriani was not included for this game.

Haha that pass from Burns summed up his night, we shouldn't have lost that game. Conceded two soft tries and knocked on whenever we had overlaps.

sorry to disagree aristo (considering we have been disagreeing a lot lately) . But you should have won! The irish defence was world class but little else went to plan for us. and to further disagree the tries we scored were not soft but well worked and precisely identifying the defensive weakness of the saxons. all told i think the commentators got it spot on. horrendous conditions. The pitch was a quagmire, the wind was sever to say the least, and the cold was bitter. It's a pity we didn't get a chance to see both 'A' teams in full flow. I think Ireland would have won by 20+

As with every English team for as long as history goes back they were stoic to the end. Regardless of our disagreements on the other article i do take my hat off to that mate. England are never beaten. It's a hell of a trait to have, Particularly in this sport.

Shouldn't have lost and should have won are the same thing

I think we dominated the game myself, you have green tinted glasses my friend^^ Burns ruined us, that was the worst I have ever seen him play, hospital passes all day without even mentioning his kicking and end (which I can only laugh at as it was only the Saxons). Daly, Miller, Watson are Stooke were awesome. Daly should be on the bench for us this 6N imo, he is class.

Madigan running through Clark is soft as was the defence on Boss' try btw.

Ok aristo.
Our back row bullied and dominated from minuet 1 to 79
Every time we had the ball Boss kicked it back to your guys. This was ridiculous. Have you seen the stats? the territory stats are 80 % in our half because we were happy to defend.Honestly I was quite disappointed in our game plan. But our defence was unbelievable good and how many turn overs did we make?

That said IF England had not made so many mistakes they would have won. but also IF ireland had played more rugby instead of kicking away possession they would have won.

So all in all i guess it worked out balanced in the end. both teams played below par. Ireland just dominated in defence.

One of those days with conditions when it's better to be without the ball?

The Irish backrow did dominate but we still would have scored tries if Clark (twice) didn't knock on when certain tries were on and Burns at the end. It seemed to me Ireland were playing to the conditions while the Saxons tried keeping it in hand (albeit difficult to do in that weather). Was a good game still though I thought. Good to see a few young guys who I really rate against a good side, absolute disaster for Burns though. I always said Ford was the future a couple of years back and maybe that time is now because f@$k Farrell. Even Farrell hasn't put in a performance like that for England though.

+ Daly, Miller, Stooke, Watson, Dickinson

- Burns, Clark, Hopper, Wallace
