Big rumour going around that Vince McMahon the WWE promotor is going to be buying Newcastle. Surely this can't be true? If so then Mike Ashley has stitched the Toon up good and proper.
Anyway i can imagine him attacking Jose with a metal chair

All joking aside from purely a commercial standpoint it wouldn't be a bad move. If there is one thing Vince can do, it is to promote and sell. Newcastle would gain more revenue streams and thus more money would be in theory be available to the manager. Newcastle Utd would gain a new fanbase and with the WWE it would ship a lot of merchandise. Of course this is all probably not going to happen and it's a nice story somebody has made up. Tell you what, a live Raw coming from St. James Park would be kick ass!

They're already known as The Cartoon Army, and this would be brilliant

Not sure how Mcmahon can sell Newcastle United to gain new sponsors.
He cant control what goes on, on the pitch to help it get a new fanbase.
Football is a sport/business. Mcmahon cant turn it into a soap opera like he's done with WWE.

He should have tried to buy Newcastle when Barton played for them.

Newcastle will never need promoting nor selling; they are a fantastic club, their supporter as vociferous as any in the land. Through no fault of these same fans, and much to their embarrassment I am sure, the antics of their owner has made them a laughing stock. Pardew has worked wonders, bearing in mind the decisions made by those above him.
I accept that Ashley is in it purely for the money, loyalty regarding fans is one-way. He has done enough damage, time to walk away with his inflated self-importance remaining boundless, and with more money in his pocket. That's what's it all about, isn't it?

Did you actually read my post Mr Chelsea? I'm talking about business and making money not a bloody football soap opera on the pitch. <sarcastic thumbs up>
JTR Newcastle are indeed a great club but a club can always find new or revenue streams take us for example. FSG unlocked the American market for us. Plus that game and mini tour around Aus was a commercial success. My Newcastle mate would do anything just to see Ashley and upper management to leave.

Chandler, definitely not with you there friend: the USA sports market was and remains saturated. There was and is little room for expansion. While the Yanks appear to know little about our football, there's nothing we can teach them about making a buck. Asia, not Australia was and remains the target of LFC. And look how successful it has been. Comparing us with chelsea, for example, the had the full team out there, everything, and made little impact. ManU were, and again are more successful.Liverpool football Club? 40,000 + turned up to watch. Watch what? A training session; they didn't even play a game!
