FIVE - A Poem

Even now the Derby v Forest game has passed into our history books, though scant days since its passing, but I've finally had a few moments to put down in words some of my feelings from that momentous day:

Five! we cried, and lo, it came to pass
As Derby's demons danced across the grass
The dogs, their tails between their legs
Nary a tackle made, a side composed of dregs

Of journeymen, substandard in their play
They'd never score, should they even play all day
The prize was ours lads! The trophy lost, now won
The opposition soundly thrashed - It's in its rightful home

Two thousand miles, I'd do the same again
I'd cross the earth to witness such a game
The downfall of the poisoned dwarf
A curse be on his name!

Bryson, epic, Russell's thunderbolt
Twas not till 5 we dared to call a halt
The job complete, my friends, what's not to like?
The story ends, now Billy, on your bike!

What happenchance that the Mighty Moj has been spinning us a fabled yarn to wit his stage presence at the theatre called the Quad.... Upon the fyth of June ...

I have sent my servant to this place of merriment and asked him to examine its "web" ... He hath returned via Darley Abbeye to Hinton Towers to bring news of a foul attempt to befuddle the good citizens of this fyne portal.

Gadzooks Sirrah Moj .... The web of the Quad reports no such appearance of thine self!

We all await your next storye.

Foul! I cry, young Hinton, thy black-tongued varlet! Tis true I tell ye. For it is not for me to play the towne crier, I am the minstrel and I leave it to others to call forth the multitudes to witnesseth myne caterwauling and posturing. Verily, it shall come to pass on the fyth of June.
