Why does Nadal always lose to Djokovic?

I fail to understand that why does Nadal lose to Djokovic and sometimes so easily that it annoys me as I am a Rafael Nadal fan since 2004.

Now I watched Nadal v Djokovic in Miami in Sony Open on TV and Nadal got thrashed by Djokovic which makes me wonder how was Nadal able to beat him in US Open 2013.I rarely now am eager to think about Nadal v Djokovic matches as I know that 7 times out of 10 Nadal will lose that match.

I also don't understand that Nadal is so defensive and afraid of almost every good oponent that he plays 4 metres behind the baseline hoping to win by making less unforced errors when he could win many more matches if he stays more aggressive against good players that he fears.

Do any other Rafael Nadal fans agree with me?

djokovic has more hard-court pedigree clearly.. hard court players tend to trouble Nadal because it's faster than clay, they can get behind the ball better since the surface isn't slippery, and he can't chase down the flat power shots, since their energy isn't nullified by the clay

when I say get behind I mean they can get the desired angle on the ball a lot better than on clay or on grass.. of course there are only a few that can beat him, as he's also one of the top hardcourt players too

I think that if Nadal was more aggressive and a bit of a risk taker he would lose 5 matches out of 10 versus Djokovic than his current form of losing 7 or 8 matches out of 10 on hard-courts.Roberttnc what do you think?

unsure - i haven't watched much tennis lately !
I think Djokovic is solid but he doesn't generate as much power as some other players, so that gives Nadal a chance if he plays well

I think that Nadal will win French Open and hopefully Wimbledon this year.He might also reach the final of US Open but he will get beaten by Djokovic in the final.
Robert what do you think will happen in terms of Grand Slams this year?

Nadal will be strong again during clay swing but I expect Djokovic to push him close on the dirt. He obviously knows how to negate Nadal's game. I also expect Murray to defend his Wimbledon Crown

Because his game is 1 dimensional and he has no B plan. Djokovic isn't troubled by Nadal's one weapon... the top spin to back hand. If he played right handed, Federer would have demolished him all through his career.

debate and answer logically instead of degrading an artcle!Nadal will never be a better player than Djokovic on hardcourts and I say this despite me hating Djokovic and I am a die hard Nadal fan!

Look at the head2head:
Nadal leads Djokovic 9-3 at slams.
Nada leads Federer 9-2 at slams.
Almost identical!

Nadal-Djokovic have been playing each other at the slams since 2006, but all THREE of Djokovic's wins came in a 6 month period from July 2011 to January 2012.

Nadal has won his last 4 slam meetings with Djokovic.
Overall, Nadal leads Djokovic 23-19.
