Lennon vs Valencia

Reading through some Spurs fans' comments across the internet, they seem to rate Lennon as much as we rate Valencia (absolutely trash).

Who would we rather have?

I say Lennon, Valencia is just a horrible player.

Valencia has world class forwards to find and still just pummels in crosses with no care.. Lennon for me, although neither are top 4 standard.

Valencia just stops when he gets the ball. Haven't seen much of Lennon recently.

Was devestated when we were linked with Townsend

I'd take Lennon, just so Evra doesn't have to worry every time we're playing Tottenham!

Valencia is comfortably better than Lennon for me. Around '08 - '10, I thought Lennon was a decent player, but he's been really poor since then, though his pace can cause danger. The guy has very little end product.

I have to say I feel sorry for Valencia. I thought he played really well for us in his first 3 seasons, he looked dangerous going forward, his crossing was consistently good, he chipped in with goals and assists and his defensive work rate was great.

He's a shadow of his former self now. I do feel that part of this is because of the role that he has been asked to play in the last 2 years, but obviously that doesn't cut it as an excuse. He has definitely lost a yard of pace over the last couple of seasons too.

He is also one of the most one-footed players I have ever seen at the top level. You expect even top professionals to favour one foot over the other, but I haven't seen anyone have such struggles with his left side since Zoolander.

Valencia, he's had a poor couple of years but I've not forgotten his performances for us.

Lennon is a decent player but has never hit the highs Valencia has
