Did not go today as was working so my brother had my ticket but I could probably tell you how we played. Slow tempo and wasteful for the first 50 minutes and then get desperate and chuck on strikers and have no shape or fluid play?
Really nobody expected us to win the league this year, we are rich and have spent money but our team really is not good enough. Money does not buy success. It helps. But you need the right ingredients or components to make it work.
Every chelsea fan deep down knew our team was not good enough, not cohesive or fluid with play, wasteful infront of goal and we rarely create guilt edge chances. I could count the 1 on 1s with keepers with one hand this season. And without a top striker too.
I really believe that we have good players, but not great or good enough to win the league or take the game by the scruff of its neck. Matchwinners.
Ballack. Lampard in prime. Essien. Drogba. Duff. J cole. Gudjohnsen. All could win us a game a few years back.
I think Oscar, willian etc are good but not going to decide many games on their own or as part of a league chasing team.

I agree that there seems to be a lack of character in this Chelsea squad. We just seem to be reckless and short of any conviction in games.
I believe many of the players now are gifted enough in ability to get into our previous teams, however they all really lack discipline.

Agree with all is this. We have really good support players in the team, just need a Drogba and Lampard in their prime now to stick them away.

Willian was everywhere but then again he wasn't incisive at all. And the one chance he had to slip Salah in perfectly, he fluffed and passed it almost behind Eto'o.
We've seriously lost that classy final ball. I've only ever seen the type of passing that will cut through any defence between Hazard and Eto'o to be honest. All of our other players seem too functional and rigid in attack.
That being said, there were two distinct moments in the match where we passed it rapidly and cut straight through Sunderland. It was almost as if our players had woken up from their slumber of turgid football. If we can play that sort of football more often then we'll have no trouble against this type of side but at the moment, that fluid football is too far and few between.
