SPL want control of the SFA

It seems the spl want to take over the running of our game.

Although changes are required at the sfa, like getting rid of the tainted Campbell Ogilvie, I cant say that I am in favour of this. They also plan to steal money from the grass roots Scheme. That has actually been a success so why are they wanting to stop it? Seems greed has got the better of them.

We had better youths during the time period you are reffering to primarily because weans had not much else but play fitba to occupy them

Yep, the game has moved on though. What worked in the past now no longer works.

The old scenario of a boy wakes up hugging his baw and spends every waking minute grudgingly performing any other task that stops him playing fitba still exists today. But it is happening primarily in Africa and still to a great extent in South America though even there such aint what it once was.
No big surprise that Africa is the major source of raw talent these days

True but it would be really stupid to not do what the nations that have surpassed us do in making those still interested in being fitba players are as well prepared as possible to perform at international level

unless that is you want to restrict the clubs

go back to the 8 diddy rule...

Australia the US and the Asian nations are a prime example of how a sport can be improved through modern methods without there having been a cultural base starting point. We have the latter in spades so considering such the future should be bright so long as correct paths are taken

Any nation that has improved significantly has an association who wields great control on development. Would have to say powerful clubs is actually a hinderence if we take what has passed as evidence. England is probably the most apt example
