Will Liverpool winning the PL prove that...

The quality of the PL is declining? Now hear me out

Manchester United won the PL in 2010/11 missed out on goal difference in 2011/12 and won it comfortably last year. However, the general consensus amongst other fans (and David Moyes ) was that we won it because everyone else underperformed and we were lucky.

Unlike United, Liverpool will have climbed an astonishing 7 places if they do win it (having not brought in any big money signings last season) which is unheard of in the PL era.

This season, Arsenal looked most likely to win it, but imploded when it really counted.

City have played some great football, but slipped up against teams they shouldn't have.

Chelsea are going through a 'transition' and have also fluffed up against 'lesser' opposition.

And United dropped 7 places due to having the inept one as their manager.

Now I do think Liverpool deserve to win it, but I think it's funny that nobody has mentioned this about this season, as there is more evidence to suggest that the overall quality of the PL has regressed this season, rather than last.

Liverpool winning the PL proves one thing (and this might be us for a while now...)
If you keep saying "this will be our year"
eventually, you'll be right!

The premier league is weaker but better for it. Although it wss worse ladt year. We are doing bettet than expected, there is more competition, unexpected champions (more than likely)
Not sure if this will be the way for the future, doubt it, can't see another 7th placed team winning the league again. This season had been the perfect storm for Liverpool, brilliant consistency, great football, no distractions, City underperforming, Utd in a negative spiral, Arsenal being Arsenal. Good luck to them. Good for the club and true supporters.

what arrogance to think utd would walk the league if fergie was still around. it was fergie after all who let the team age without adaquant replacements. moyes didn't do himself any favors, but he was just the scapegoat.

No. It will prove that they've been the best team over 38 games.

And he walked the league with that same team.

When United won the league last season, all the media were saying the league is in decline or it is poor and it is the poorest United side ever.

Now Liverpool are winning it, the media are not saying the same thing. I guess it helps that so many ex-liverpool players are in the media.

Yes it would be like Bangladesh winning the cricket world cup
