Steffon Armitage remind me again why the RFU feels that players playing in Europe aren't worthy of the national team?

Because foreign clubs don't have a deal to release the elite squad whenever requested like English clubs do. I look at it another way, why not subsidise the elite squad (with a maximum number at each club) so that it is both financially rewarding to play In England and with the bonus of international rugby.
I agree with the sentiment though, Armitage was immense, as he has been every time I have watched Toulon in the HC this year. Robshaw, Armitage, Binny backrow would be as good as any.

Basically sending all our best players to France would be terrible Show, I guess you are Scottish though so not in your eyes^^

Aye, I'm Scottish, but I've been doing missionary work down south for over 30 years.

It's funny how we look at thing differently. For us, we need to send our our best abroad (including Ingurrland) to allow young talent to develop. You, on the other hand, look on anything other than England as alien, enemy even.

I can see where the RFU stance is coming from, but does that leave England vulnerable? Steffon A has highlighted things, but don't forget that Jonny was cast into the wilderness the moment he moved to Toulon.

Has that really been to England's benefit? Just a thought.

2011 WC Wilkinson was horrible, playing him over Flood cost MJ his job imo. His time was done, in fact the only guy who was shunned from the EPS harshly imo was Nick Easter. I'm not saying he was/is a better selection than Binny or Morgan but picking Tubby Waldrom over him was a bad joke.
