Seems a little ill-thought out. Why does he have the Union Flag as part of his logo?

the book was called Sophiechen und der Riese (Sophie and the Giant) in german

That doesn't explain why a German footballer would include a Union Flag in his personal merchandise logo. Not that I'm all precious about the flag or anything, it just doesn't make sense.

Oh right... well i imagine he likes it here along with the moniker we've given him.

Also the union flag is often used in fashion. You're right, it isnt very well thought out and i imagine they applied that same thinking when including it in the logo
