Phil Thompson

Alexis Sanchez has made a big mistake by rejecting Liverpool to complete a move to Arsenal, according to Reds legend and pundit Phil Thompson.

Thompson claims the Chilean is making an error in choosing to move to the Emirates Stadium over Klanfield.

‘Sanchez doesn’t know what he’s missing by not joining Liverpool,’ he told Sky Sports News. ‘The passion, power and worldwide recognition of Liverpool is strong.’

Thompson had hit the headlines two weeks ago by telling the media that Sanchez to Liverpool was already a done deal, so Sanchez has made him look the fool that he is.

Now, even as a Spurs fan I can admit that Sanchez choosing the Goonz over the Dippers is a no brainer for many reasons.

Somebody needs to remind Thompson that this is 2014 and not 1980, Liverpool are no longer the biggest club around and not even the biggest club in England. These bitter and biased comments from a supposedly impartial pundit are nothing short of deluded and arrogant.

Thompson is just another in a long line of former Liverpool employees in complete denial, and the utter delusion from anybody with any sort of affiliation with Liverpool never fails to amaze.

These type of blinkered comments could almost have come from the mouth of Whinger himself.

Hmmm. I'm a bit scared now. Let's try this though shall we.

By all accounts, Andy Carroll was a huge flop. Now, you try to defend ozil by saying that because be won something, he isn't a flop. I then said, that Andy Carroll won something too. So, using your definition of "not flopping" Carroll didn't flop. We all know he did, so your definition is ridiculous.

Can't believe I had to write that. Part of me has died.

You've confused yourself. You called Ozil a flop, not me. You also brought up Andy Carrol. So using your logic of Carroll not being a flop because he won a trophy in his 1st season, the same logic can be applied to Ozil who you called a flop.
