I take it not much due diligence goes into buying players at Derby. You will quite happily part with millions of pounds for players who averages less than 10 games a season.

Nobody knows how much was paid for him, as Aries pointed out we shouldn't discuss it because we don't know. We might have paid a fiver for him or 50 million, none of us know.

We know it is millions. We turned down 1 million.

Certainly not a fiver. More bluff and bluster from wee Derby.

Sorry Tezza but while I'd be happy for an informed discussion Aries made it quite clear that this was impossible as none of us really know.

No you don't know it's millions, you turned down an offer of 950K, we might have upped it to a million and had it agreed (doubtful I know but as we don't know it's possible)

Ummmm you'll have to explain the bluff and bluster comment because unless your really thick you'll realise I was making a point.

If I had to explain the bluff and bluster comment I wouldn't be the one who is "really thick"

Anyway, let's use your incredibly unlikely scenario that George cost £1 million.. Not the millions that have been reported extensively in the media.

Is £1 million good value for a player that averages less than 10 games a year?

Can you give me the link to the articles that say millions, the only thing I've seen is 'undisclosed amount'

Definately better value than 10 mil for a striker that was behind Odemwngie in the pecking order.

BTW no bluff and bluster on my part so no need to get tetchy, I was making a point that none of us know how much was paid for him but as your about to provide me with proper links then it'll be cleared up soon.

I think that having a player on loan for months who then takes his chance when offered and becomes the first name on the team sheet is excellent 'due diligence'. When was the last time the Baggies were so thorough. Nicolas Anelka?

Manc, I'm looking forward to the battle of the big clubs when Forest take on Wet Bum at the awe-inspiring City Ground on 2nd Aug.
Will Forest finally have a fit centre back to be able cope with Ol' Deadeye? Will anyone be there ? Does anybody really care ?
