Our Fantasy Football is based on the Telegraph's format/ratings.

Top two strikers from last year:

Giroud, O - Arsenal - 214
Sturridge, D - Liverpool - 197

Giroud top striker (and I think highest points for any player last year). Can't argue with a pedigree like that.

So the Telegraphs points are allocated by a blind woman. Doesn't make him world class which is what we need.

One of the great strengths of Arsenal is that they have a large loyal supporter base.

One of the weaknesses of Arsenal is they have many naïve supporters who think that having Giroud up front makes them a strong team.

I do feel I should point out:
a) The scores are provided by the Telegraph, not me
b) The scores are partly based on objective analysis of actual events on the football pitch - goals, assists, that sort of thing - unilke a lot of the slating Giroud gets on here, which seems to be based on him not being RvP
c) The scores are also based on subjective opinions of professional sports writers who work for one of the leading newspapers in the country - well, MoM basically
d) I do not write for the Telegraph

Now I'm not stupid, I know Giroud could be a whole world better than he is, but he could definitely be much, much worse than he is. Maybe it's time for some people on here to re-assess who is actually living "in a fantasy land".

Was looking at Giroud vs Rickie Lambert thing on Twitter earlier, which started from an Arsenal fan laughing at Liverpool signing the latter.

It might interest people to know that in the PL, Lambert has a better goals to minutes ratio, assists to minutes ratio, dispossed less times per minute, better goals from shots ratio, more key passes, better in aerial duels, less "turnovers" (giving the ball away without actually being tackled) and offside less.

Although stats don't show everything, what it suggests to me is what I've thought for a long time, that our team carries a very poor player in Olivier Giroud, making him look far better than he is.

It reminds me of Chamakh before RvP displaced him from the team - to me looked very poor despite scoring goals in a team that was winning a fair amount of games. I think this has been proven true since Maroune left Arsenal - I also suspect a very similar fate lies in store for Olivier.
