If you're like me, then you are constantly searching the media looking for any info on potential Arsenal signings. Then you can probably empathise with me when my elation is dashed time after time when I realise that we are linked with yet another mid-fielder (the latest being Douglas Costa and just before that Roberto Firmino). It's not that they are not good quality mid-fielders, but do we really need them? It wouldn't surprise me if I found out that we have more mid-fielders than any other Premier League club. A top, top striker is what we need

Arsenal need a better left back and a world class centre back.
Gibbs gets away with it because he's young and English but he'll never be a top left back.
Arsenal want 50 attacking midfielders so they can walk the ball into the net and everyone can say what fantastic football they play.
With the correct defensive signings they can improve and challenge for 3rd place.

Firminho and Douglas Costa are a lot more similar to an Alexis than a Cazorla/Rosicky/Wilshere kind of player. I wouldn't mind them. We need a little extra thrust, power and goal-scoring ability than many of our midfielders provide.
